Facing fragrant peach and plum trees and beautiful branches, we forge ahead with great achievements. 2020 was an exciting year full of harvest for the Institute. The Institute conditions were gradually optimized, including the establishment of Shenyang Institute of Technology Huazhong Numerical Control College, the improvement of staff canteen, and the construction of Maple Leaf Restaurant, a place which is very popular on the net. One "new agricultural science" reform and practice project of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China was approved; one of the first batch of national new engineering projects was accepted as excellent; one of the second batch of national new engineering research and practice projects was approved, and the reform of talent training mode was further deepened; it was approved as the first national forestry bureau research base of our university, the national long-term research base for forest protection in Northeast China, and the key laboratory for the prevention and control of dangerous forest pests in Liaoning province was established, which has promoted the improvement of the scientific research ability of the Institute; the number of students winning prizes in all kinds of competitions reached a new high! The achievements and characteristics of the Institute have been widely reported, and the popularity of the Institute has been greatly improved.
The year 2020 was a year of hard work and innovation. New steps have been taken in the adjustment of specialties. In 2020, there were 3 new undergraduate majors such as intelligent science and technology and 5 new specialized majors such as electrical automation technology. 5 provincial first-class undergraduate education demonstration majors and 2 provincial talent training mode reform demonstration higher vocational majors have been approved. New achievements have been made in teaching reform. In 2020, the Institute has built 150 smart classrooms and 254 courses to participate in classroom teaching reform. New breakthroughs have been made in scientific research. 123 projects of various types and levels have been approved, and the amount of research funds has exceeded 10 million yuan for the first time. 2020 was destined to be a very unusual year in history. In this year the epidemic situation was fierce, and the time we spent together was only four months, which makes us cherish it. During the epidemic, we built our own mask factory to protect teachers and students. At the beginning of the school season, nucleic acid testing was free for all teachers and students to ensure everything went smoothly. At the same time, the Institute sized up the situation and advanced the deployment of teaching arrangements. The scientific arrangement of teaching schedule in autumn semester effectively ensured the health and safety of teachers and students. We overcame difficulties this year, fully implemented the work plan of welcoming the evaluation and promoting construction, and completed the preparation work of welcoming the evaluation from all aspects.
