Recently, the "Key Laboratory of Grass Hazardous Pest Prevention and Control of State Forestry and Grassland Administration" was approved for construction, which is applied by SIT and Forest and Liaoning Provincial Forestry and Grassland Pest Control and Quarantine Workstation. Meanwhile, the successful declaration is guided by a notice of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration on Agreeing to Establish Three Key Laboratories of Northeast Forestry and Grassland Hazardous Pest Control Bureau (Lin K、Kofa (2021) No. 80), issued by the State Forestry and Grassland Administration issued. This magnificent success marks a historic breakthrough in the construction of the university's scientific research platform.
In recent years, our school has carried out deep cooperation with the Workstation, exploring new theories and technologies of forest pest control. Fortunately, a series of research achievements are coming into fruition--Key Lab of Liaoning Province. Besides, a new application of Key Laboratory of State Forestry Administration was passed by the expert group site organized by the Science and Technology Department of the State Forestry and Grass Administration in June 2021.
After the establishment of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration Key Laboratory, the project will focus on the key technologies of forest and grassland pest control in Northeast China, including pest control, major forestry and grassland pest monitoring and control technology, forest grass pest monitoring in Liao River Basin, prevention as well as control. Also, the research is carried out in combination with the special characteristics of climatic environment, pest occurrence and propagation in Northeast China. Eventually, the whole project could provide information and technical services for pest control and prevention in grass and forest form Liaoning Province to the whole land, China, and for cultivation of elites for institutions in the region.
It is reported that the Key Laboratory of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration is an important part of the national forestry science and technology innovation system. Meanwhile, it is committed to carrying out basic research and high-tech research on the application of forestry science and technology to solve major, key and common scientific and technological problems which constrain forestry development. The key laboratory is also the first time that our province has been approved as the key laboratory of the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Forest Protection Discipline, which marks a new step in the development of forestry science and technology in our province. More importantly, it is of great significance for promoting the rapid development of China's forestry industry.
